About Kumbhabishegam

கும்பாபிஷேகம் பற்றி

🕉

The Kumbhabishegam is the most sacred consecration ceremony in Hindu temple tradition. The word "Kumbhabishegam" comes from "Kumba" (pot) and "Abishegam" (bathing/anointing). Water collected from sacred rivers and charged with prayers is poured over the temple tower (Gopuram) and deity, re-consecrating the entire temple.

Arulmigu Thendayuthapani Kovil has conducted multiple Kumbabishegams, the most recent and grandest being the Maha Kumbabishegam 2024, which brought together thousands of devotees from Malaysia and beyond for this once-in-a-generation spiritual event.
